Privacy & Terms

What this site collects.

Our formal Privacy Policy and Terms of Service are still being written and will be posted here before PaintProof opens to the public. In the meantime, here is a plain description of everything this website does with your data. It is short because the site does very little.

PaintProof is operated by American Construction Technology LLC, a Georgia limited liability company. “We” and “us” below mean that company.

If you fill in the contact form

The Talk to a founder form asks for your name and email, and optionally your phone number, business name and a message. We store those so we can reply, and we text the founder, through the SMS provider Twilio, so somebody actually sees it. That is the whole of it — we don't sell it, we don't add you to a marketing list, and nothing is passed to an advertising network.

The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that you are a person rather than a script. Cloudflare sees your IP address as part of that check. We do not store it.

If you arrive from a link or an ad

When a link carries campaign tags (the utm_ parameters), we keep them, plus the address of the page that sent you and the first page you landed on, for the length of your visit. They are held in your browser's session storage, not in a cookie, and they are gone when you close the tab. If you go on to sign up, they travel with you so we can tell which links bring painters who stay. They are never attached to a link that leaves for somebody else's website.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not build a profile of you or follow you across other websites. It reports page views and where traffic came from, in aggregate. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, and no session recording on this site.

Fonts and third parties

Our typefaces are served from this domain rather than from a font provider, so loading a page here does not announce your visit to anyone else. Apart from Cloudflare — which serves the site, the analytics and the form's anti-bot check — this website contacts no third party.

Instant Quote: terms of use

These apply when you use an Instant Quote link, the page a painting company sends you so you can photograph your rooms, try paint colors on them and see a price range. By ticking the box on that page you agree to them.

  • The tool is free to use. You are not agreeing to buy anything, and nothing you do in it books or commits you to a job.
  • The colors on your photos are a preview. Real paint looks different on a real wall, in real light, and screens differ. Check a physical sample before you decide.
  • The price range is an estimate, not a quote or an offer. The painting company sets its actual price after it has seen the job.
  • Only upload photos you took or have the right to use, and please keep people out of them.
  • Your photos, color choices, contact details and price range are sent to the painting company whose link you used, so it can contact you about the job. That company, not PaintProof, is responsible for any work it quotes or does.
  • Please don't use the tool to upload anything unlawful, or try to overload or misuse it. We may block access that looks automated or abusive.

Instant Quote: what we collect and why

When you use an Instant Quote link we collect what you give us, and use it only to produce your preview and price range and to get it to the company that sent you the link:

  • Contact details you type in: name, email and/or phone, and ZIP code (used to price your area).
  • Room photos you add, and the areas our software detects in them (walls, trim, doors), the colors you pick, and the room sizes and price range that result.
  • Basic usage events, such as which step of the tool you reached, so we can tell whether it works. These are tied to an anonymous session, not an advertising profile.

That information is shared with the painting company whose link you used. To analyze your photos we send them to two service providers that process them on our behalf: fal.ai, which finds the walls, trim and doors so a color can be applied, and Anthropic, an AI provider that describes the room so the price range fits it. When you send your request, we text the painting company your name and ZIP code through Twilio, an SMS provider, so they know a lead is waiting; if a painter texts you their Instant Quote link, your phone number passes through Twilio too. If something on the page breaks, Sentry, an error-monitoring service, receives a crash report about it. It is set up not to collect personal information, and we strip the private part of your link from those reports. Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you are a person, and sees your IP address to do so. We do not sell any of it, and none of it goes to an advertising network.

Want your quote request and photos deleted? Ask the painting company, or reach us through the contact form and we will remove them.

Text messages

PaintProof sends text messages for the painting companies that use it: a proposal, invoice or Instant Quote link a painter sends you, a crew member's schedule, or an alert to a painter about their own account. You get a text because you, or the painting company you are working with, gave them your number for that job. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

Reply STOP to any PaintProof text and we stop texting that number; reply START to opt back in, or HELP for help. Messages are sent through Twilio. Mobile numbers and text-message consent are never shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for their marketing.

The app is separate

This page is about the marketing website. The PaintProof app, where painters keep their customers' details and photos, holds each company's data separately from every other company's. If you are evaluating PaintProof as a founding-pilot partner and need our data-handling details in more depth, ask us directly and we'll walk you through it.

If you create an account

We email the account owner about the account itself — your free trial, your plan and billing, and any change to our terms — and, during the first weeks, a few tips for getting your first proposal out. They come from hello@mail.paintproof.app through Resend, an email-delivery provider, which receives your name and email address to send them. We don't track whether you open them. Every tip carries an unsubscribe link that works in one click; account and billing notices keep coming, because they are about your account.
